What happened to the Garden Girls
For almost 3 years the Garden Girls were the little sisters of The Garden House. As of today, November 25th 2000, there no longer is
any affiliation between The Garden House and the Garden Girls. How did that happen?
Last week it came to our attention that there is a new law: (Please click to inform yourself).
The Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act.
The Inaugural Ladies (later re-named Garden Keepers) of The Garden House read the law, discussed the situation, and decided that staying in compliance with federal regulations for the safety of the children was getting more and more difficult. Monitoring the girls' site is a huge responsibility with penalties involved if not in compliance.
Those laws are constantly changing which is to the benefit of the children!
Not wanting to put our children at risk, we decided to disconnect The Garden Girls.
We are truly saddened by the fact that such a law even had to be written.
We formed the Garden Girls with the best of intentions. However,
the law does not care about intentions, the law applies to any and everybody,
regardless of intentions.
Garden Angel, the leader of the Garden Girls, has decided to keep the Garden Girls running.
She understands she is fully responsible for this endeavor and for compliance with the laws.
We are thankful to Garden Angel and the other GG leaders, past and present.
They have generously given their time, effort, heart, spirit.
We want to thank the Garden Girls for having been our little sisters.
We wish everybody well!
